Karen Nelson - Management Solutions Expert
To provide or teach effective management solutions, Karen Nelson uses a number of approaches to work with her clients - sometimes helping directly and other times helping by teaching others. These approaches include consulting, facilitating, managing, mentoring, planning, speaking, and training.
Karen helps managers at all levels to develop their ability to deal with a wide range of challenging, complex and stressful management situations. She refers to these situations as Pink Elephants. The often obvious yet unspoken or unresolved issues preventing progress or causing stress.
Karen lives in Cambridge - New Zealand, travelling as required to work with organisations locally, nationally and internationally.
To troubleshoot problems for managers or organisations, Karen travels to be on-site so that she can accurately explore every aspect of the environment that is contributing to the situation.
Utilising Skype, Karen successfully mentors managers all around the world. The conversation she finds she has most often with her mentees, relatest to helping them become comfortable with their own style of managing within the context of an always imperfect and incomplete enviornment. Therefore, to identify and deal with issues requires an acceptance that there is no guaranteed formula for success - it requires the manager to know who they are, who their people are, and how to adapt effective management strategies to suit the situation at hand.
Writing and speaking about spotting and overcoming the pink elephants preventing organisational change, Karen has recently cemented her status as a Management Solutions Thought Leader.
